Registration

Dates for registration are listed on the school’s academic calendar. Late registration is permitted only under unusual circumstances.

Undergraduate students who carry at least twelve credit hours and graduate students who carry at least nine credit hours during fall and spring semesters are regarded as full-time.  Summer enrollment is optional and does not influence one’s full-time status.

Health Requirements

All students are required to comply with the Health Sciences Center student health requirements. Upon acceptance, the Office of Academic Affairs gives each individual the LSUHSC Student Health Services Form on which health and immunization are documented. Each student submits the completed form to the Health Sciences Center Student Health Clinic before classes begin.

Reapplication

Students who wish to resume studies after an absence of more than one semester from the School of Public Health may be required to submit an application for re-admission at least ten days before registration.

Supplementary transcripts must be submitted if any work has been taken at another institution during the interim. Exceptions to this requirement must be by successful petition to the Dean.

Multi-campus Registration Procedures

Students enrolled full-time in the LSU System may cross enroll at other LSU System campuses. Students are required to complete an application for LSU System Multi-Campus Registration (available in the Office of the Registrar). This form must be submitted to the Student Affairs office two weeks prior to registration. Students should first register with their home school. Documentation that fees have been paid at the home school, a course schedule form, and two copies of Multi-Campus Registration Form must be submitted at registration.

Auditing Courses

Courses may be audited only with the written permission of the Course Director. The same tuition and fees will be charged for audited courses as for those courses taken for credit.  After they have audited the course, the student is not permitted to repeat the course to earn credit for it.  To register to aduit a course, the student should contact Isabel Billiot, ibilli@lsuhsc.edu for the necessary form, after discussion with their academic advisor.
