Academic Complaint Procedure

The faculty of the LSUHNO SON believes in the interactive process between the faculty/instructor and the student which enhances stewardship, organizational citizenship, nursing innovation, caring, professionalism, respect, integrity, diversity, and excellence.  In such an atmosphere of open expression faculty members and students are usually able to quickly resolve academic or clinical disagreements.  However, when mutual exchange is not effective, a mechanism for adjudicating student complaints is available.  The Student Complaint Procedure afford students, with just cause, the means to initiate an academic or clinical complaint and request a resolution of such complaint as determined by the Dean.  The Student Complaint Procedure also assure students that they will receive an impartial voice for complaints within the SON without fear of retribution.

All complaints, as well as written notification of the final complaint resolution are maintained in a centralized complaint file, housed in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Resource Center Building, Suite 824, New Orleans, LA 70112.

Academic Grievance and Review Procedure
