Student Misconduct

The principles, definitions, policies, and procedures on student misconduct are specified in the School of Public Health Student Handbook. Such misconduct includes academic misconduct and professional misconduct. Reports of academic misconduct should be made to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. The case may be resolved at that level, or it may be referred to a hearing panel of students and faculty. All recommendations will be forwarded to the Dean for action. Sanctions range from censure for minor infractions to expulsion for infractions that are gross or egregious. Reports of professional misconduct should be made to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Appeals can be taken to the LSU Health Sciences Center Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs who may refer the appeal to a special committee.
