Code of Student Conduct
All students are expected to abide by the Code of Student Conduct. The Code of Student Conduct delineates professional standards for behavior. The Code of Student Conduct was developed by students and faculty. Each student is expected to read, know the contents, and are required to sign the Code of Student Conduct Statement once admitted.
Policy on Cheating and Plagiarism
Any student determined by a faculty member of cheating, plagiarizing, or fabricating documentation on any assignment or examination will be given a “zero” and may be dismissed from the program. Cheating, plagiarizing, or fabricating documents is considered to be a violation of the Code of Student Conduct and compromises the core values of the School of Nursing. Refer to the Code of Student Conduct for disciplinary actions for ethical violations.
Faculty reserve the right to evaluate any course assignment for copyright or plagiarism violations.
Academic Grievance and Review Procedure
The LSUHNO SON believes in the interactive process between the faculty and the student, which enhances mutual acceptance, awareness, and respect. In such an atmosphere of open expression, faculty members and students are usually able to quickly resolve academic disagreements. However, when mutual exchange is not effective, a mechanism for adjudicating student grievances is available. The Academic Grievance and Review Procedure affords students, with just cause, the means to initiate an academic grievance and request a formal hearing before an impartial faculty/student panel. The Academic Grievance and Review Procedure also assure students will receive a fair grievance hearing within the School of Nursing without fear of retribution.
