NURS 4349 - NURSING CARE OF THE ONCOLOGY PATIENT[2 Credits] Nursing 4349, Nursing Care of the Oncology Patient, is a nursing elective course which provides the student an opportunity to develop an increased knowledge of both theoretical and clinical aspects of care of patients with malignant diseases. Lecture content is provided by nursing faculty and expert oncology nurses. The
component allows students to interact with nurses and other members of the interdisciplinary team caring for adult cancer patients, observe cancer care in a variety of settings and gain an expanded appreciation of the role of the oncology nurse as a member of an interdisciplinary team and patient advocate.
