CPSC 3300 - NEONATOLOGY & PEDIATRICS[4 Credits] Lecture and laboratory course designed to cover the development of the cardiopulmonary system from embryo to puberty. Emphasis includes the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of various cardiopulmonary disorders of the infant and pediatric patient. This course also provides the student information needed to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest, strategies to prevent arrest, and the cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize those in respiratory failure, shock, or cardiopulmonary arrest in accordance with the guidelines set by the American Heart Association.
