DENT 4139 - TEACHING SELECTIVE

[10-99 Credits]
The Teaching Selective is intended for dental students who have an interest in a career in health professions education. Students gain practical experience working with course directors serving as faculty mentors to teach in/assist with the basic science, preclinical or clinical science courses taught to dental, dental hygiene and/or dental laboratory technology students or engaging in inter-professional education opportunities with students in other LSUHSC schools/programs. Faculty mentors introduce the students to various techniques used to educate professional students. To enroll, the student must get written approval from a course director serving as faculty mentor, with support from the respective department head. The student will work with the faculty member and course director to agree upon the hours of enrollment.
