Doctoral students may register for ” Exam Only” when they have completed their Preliminary Exam, completed all course work, and have established a defense date within 2 semesters. Students in MS program may register for “Exam Only” when they have completed all course requirements and expect to graduate within 1 semester. With proper justification, doctoral students may petition to register for Exam Only one additional semester (for a maximum of 3); MS students may petition to register for Exam Only one additional semester (for a maximum of 2).
