The fundamentals of tooth preparation for extracoronal single-crown restorations and fixed partial denture abutments are emphasized. Principles of fixed appliance design and fabrication are covered. Also, emphasis is placed on treatment restorations as they relate to the periodontium. Clinically related experience is obtained by using ivorine mannequins with specific projects and practical examinations done in the state-of-the-art simulation laboratory. Those aspects relating to occlusion are correlated with the occlusion courses. (Department of Prosthodontics)
