NURS 7814 - ECONOMICS FOR NURSING AND HEALTHCARE PRACTICE

[3 Credits]
This course introduces the fundamental principles of economics and the application of economic principles, concepts, measurement, and evaluation to nursing and health care practice. Economic concepts will be explored as related to influencing nursing and health care delivery, policy, and administrative/leadership decision making. There will be an emphasis on nursing economics within the health care system to include nursing economic measures and the impact on the health care system. The course will provide a foundation for understanding nursing and healthcare economics, resource allocation, and the economic forces shaping nursing practice, the nursing profession, and healthcare.
