BIOMED 110 - Fundamental Concepts in Biomedical Sciences I[3 Credits] This graduate-level course emphasizes the molecular processes critical to understanding the complexities of living organisms at a cellular level. The course is designed to cover a broad range of topics, offering an in-depth examination of the structure, function, and regulation of cellular components. Through assigned readings, lecture materials, and class discussions, students will develop the ability to apply a broad knowledge of cellular function and dysfunction to the analysis of human disease. Topics covered include cell and molecular biology, genetics and gene regulation, and the structure, function, transport, and metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids.
