BIONF 200 - Computational Genomics

[4 Credits]
This is an intermediate hands-on bioinformatics and computational genomics course with application to biomedical and life sciences. Students enrolled in this course will learn bioinformatics and computational genomics methods and algorithms with application to multiplatform multiscale genotype and next generation sequencing with focus on mapping genomes, variant calling and annotation, genome interpretation, functional and enrichment analysis, integration of multi-omics data, network and pathway-based modeling and development of risk prediction models for modeling disease risk and disease threats. In addition, students will learn algorithm and technology development with application to biomedical and life sciences. Knowledge of bioinformatics and computational genomics programming is required.
