BIOMED 131 - Techniques & Trends in Biomedical Sciences II

[2 Credits]
This graduate-level course is designed as a practical introduction to both standard methodologies and the latest technologies used in modern biomedical research. This series of lectures and demonstrations aims to equip students with the skills required to successfully design and analyze the results of experimental techniques including cell isolation and tissue processing, animal models of disease, advanced sequencing and computational methods, physiological and pharmacological methods, and advanced cellular analysis techniques. This course also introduces students to diverse faculty and their labs, as well as the wide variety of research instrumentation and services available throughout the campus. Student progress will be assessed through class discussions, problem sets, and formal exams.
