BIOMED 130 - Techniques & Trends in Biomedical Sciences I[2 Credits] This graduate-level course is designed as a practical introduction to both standard methodologies and the latest technologies used in modern biomedical research. This series of lectures & demonstrations aims to equip students with the skills required to successfully design and analyze the results of experimental techniques including nucleic acid/gene expression analysis, molecular biology, cell culture and cell-based assays, protein analysis, and advanced imaging techniques. This course also introduces students to diverse faculty and their labs, as well as the wide variety of research instrumentation & services available throughout the campus. Student progress will be assessed through class discussions, problem sets, and formal exams.
