COUN 5601 - FOUNDATIONS IN COUNSELING

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the field of counseling, with a focus on the specialty area clinical mental health counseling. The course includes an exploration of the history, philosophy, trends, and practices of mental health counseling; the roles and functions of mental health counselors across practice settings; methods and models of clinical supervision; professional organizations, preparation standards and credentials; and other related professional issues.
