COUN 6630 - VOCATIONAL COUNSELING/CAREER DEVELOPMENT

Vocational, career, and occupational resources and systems and how to access and utilize them are taught to students. This course includes a discussion of state-of-the-art practices in areas such as supported employment, proprietary rehabilitation, and computerized vocational instruments. Students learn career development theories and how to apply them to counseling individuals. Students make field site visits to identify community vocational resources and gain exposure to occupational classifications within local businesses and industries.
