NURS 2362 - FOUNDATIONS OF NURSING PRACTICE PRACTICUM

[2 Credits]
This clinical course provides students with their initial hands-on experience in the professional nursing role. Students will begin applying fundamental nursing skills and concepts in a supervised clinical setting. The course focuses on developing essential competencies, including providing safe and effective care for diverse patient populations, establishing therapeutic relationships, performing physical assessments, gaining knowledge of medication administration, implementing standard precautions, demonstrating professionalism, and accurately documenting and applying clinical judgment when analyzing patient situations. This course builds upon the knowledge gained in previous classes, including social sciences, humanities, and nursing courses. Prerequisites: NURS 2371, HLSC 2410, 2412, 2416, and 2417. Co-requisites: NURS 2351 and 2372.
