NURS 2372 - FOUNDATIONS OF NURSING PRACTICE SIMULATION/LAB

This lab and simulation course provides students with their initial hands-on experience in the professional nursing role. Students will apply fundamental nursing skills and concepts in both hospital and simulation lab settings. The course emphasizes developing essential competencies, including providing safe and effective care for diverse patient populations, establishing therapeutic relationships, performing physical assessments, understanding medication administration, implementing standard precautions, demonstrating professionalism, delegating responsibilities appropriately, ensuring accurate documentation, and applying clinical judgment in simulation scenarios. This course builds on knowledge gained from previous coursework in the social sciences and humanities. Prerequisite: NURS 2371, HLSC 2410, 2412; Corequisite: NURS 2351, 2362
