NURS 3368 - WOMEN’S HEALTH NURSING PRACTICUM[2 Credits] Using an evidence-based, family-centered approach, this practicum course provides clinical opportunities in caring for women across the lifespan, with a focus on the childbearing family. Students will provide nursing care to pregnant women, those in labor and childbirth, newborns and their families in hospital to community settings. As part of the course, students will complete a community activity focused on health promotion, illness prevention, or disease management to improve women’s health outcomes. Additional assignments include the development of a group care plan and reflective journal entries that support clinical learning and professional growth. [90 hours Practicum] Prerequisites: NURS 3351, 3362, 3372, 3356, 3366; Co-requisites: NURS 3358
