NURS 4346 - GERONTOLOGY[3 Credits] This course focuses on aging processes, health promotion, illness prevention, and managing acute and chronic health problems in diverse older adults. Gerontology nursing integrates nursing theories and other disciplines, including social sciences and humanities, to provide safe, quality, equitable care across various healthcare settings. Students learn to promote nursing care across the continuum, coordinate resources within complex healthcare systems, and utilize informatics and healthcare technologies following evidence-based practice and professional standards. The course fosters professional development, emphasizing ethics, accountability, collaboration, and well-being to encourage leadership and lifelong learning in addressing the unique needs of diverse older adults. Prerequisite: NURS 4357, NURS 4358
