NURS 4358 - POPULATION FOCUSED NURSING PRACTICUM

The Population-Focused Practicum explores community health nursing with a focus on assessing population-focused health, identifying disparities, and developing evidence-based interventions to promote health equity. Through experiential learning, including poverty simulations and reflective journals, students enhance their understanding of social determinants of health, cultural competence, and professional growth in a clinical course. The course prepares students to apply nursing skills in community settings, emphasizing collaboration, advocacy, and safe, patient-centered care for diverse populations. [135 hours practicum] Prerequisites: NURS 3345, 3355, 3365, 3358, 3368, 3370, and 3451. Co-requisites: NURS 4357.
