EHCS 6238 - PRINCIPLES OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH

Environmental health plays a central role in public health practice. This course explores the critical connections between environmental factors and human health, covering foundational concepts such as environmental epidemiology, toxicology, and environmental policy. It also examines specific topics including air pollution, climate change, water quality and supply, hazardous waste, exposure assessment, and extreme heat. Students will engage with assessment tools and practical applications, alongside applied topics such as food safety, pest control, occupational health, and environmental justice. Using case studies and real-world examples, this course offers a comprehensive overview of environmental health challenges and strategies for protecting public health.
