NURS 7912 - ADULT GERONTOLOGY CNS III: ACUTE, CHRONIC, & COMPLEX HEALTH PROBLEMS[6 Credits] Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist III is the third course in a series of classes that allow further development as an Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist. It builds upon Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse specialist courses and core coursework. This course emphasizes the roles of leadership and collaboration. The focus is on interprofessional collaboration and communication that facilitates change to improve patient outcomes. Ethical is on decision-making, change theory, and outcome communication management that facilitates methods are change to incorporated. The patient patient/client, nurses and nursing practice, and organization/system are spheres of impact. Clinical experiences allow students to analyze processes and outcomes on the aggregate and individual levels. Students will develop strategies for the diagnosis and management of adult patients across the lifespan with acute, chronic, and complex health problems diagnosing and managing adult-gerontology patients with acute, chronic, and complex health problems across their lifespan.
