NURS 4378 - RN POPULATION FOCUSED NURSING PRACTICUM

[2 Credits]
The Population-Focused Practicum for RN students explores community health nursing with a focus on assessing population-focused health, identifying disparities, and developing evidence-based interventions to promote health equity.  Through practicum learning experiences, including community assessment and reflective journals, RN students enhance their understanding of social determinants of health, cultural competence, and professional growth in a clinical course.  RN students will use the Minnesota Wheel of Public Health Interventions to guide the selection of population-focused strategies when planning and implementing population-focused care.  The course prepares RN students to apply nursing skills in community settings, emphasizing collaboration, advocacy, and safe, patient-centered care for diverse populations.
