Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner I: Psychotherapeutic Modalities is the first course in the series of population-focused courses that provides a comprehensive exploration of psychotherapeutic modalities used in the assessment and treatment of psychiatric illnesses across the lifespan. This course integrates evidence-based approaches to psychotherapy, focusing on their application in clinical practice. The psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner student will learn to conduct a variety of therapeutic techniques for individuals, couples, groups, and families, in diverse therapeutic milieu, using evidence-based psychotherapeutic frameworks within the nurse-client therapeutic relationship. Emphasis is placed on expanding diagnostic reasoning while promoting recovery and wellness through the holistic approach of integrating pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
