NURS 7940 - MIDWIFERY CARE III: INTRAPARTUM, POSTPARTUM AND NORMAL NEWBORN CARE.

This course focuses on advanced midwifery care for pregnant people as well as adolescents and adults with chronic health conditions. Students will apply the midwifery management process to develop evidence-based, person-centered care plans tailored to the social and cultural needs of individuals and families. Emphasis is placed on utilizing quality and safety principles to enhance care delivery and self-management, while fostering collaboration with the healthcare team. Students will also explore policy and advocacy strategies to address health inequities and improve access to care, equipping them to lead change in midwifery practice and policy. Clinical practicum experiences will take place in outpatient and community settings.
