NURS 7942 - MIDWIFERY CARE IV: TRANSITION TO PRACTICE AND INTEGRATION PRACTICUM[6 Credits] This course focuses on the knowledge and skills needed for safe, beginning nurse-midwifery practice. Students will apply the midwifery management process to provide comprehensive care for newborns, adolescents, and adults. Key areas include disaster preparedness, ethical practice, policy analysis, and fostering inclusive, safe, and equitable care environments. Students will also develop a personalized plan for career development and long-term well-being. Through case studies, simulation, and collaborative projects, this course prepares students to navigate complex challenges and promote optimal outcomes for individuals, families, and communities in diverse healthcare settings. Clinical practicum experiences will take place in full-scope midwifery practices in outpatient, community, and inpatient settings.
