OFP 5605 - OROFACIAL PAIN RESEARCH

[1-2 Credits]
The course is for first- and second-year Orofacial Pain residents. Through this course, residents will perform a research project and must select a topic, perform a literature search, formulate an experimental design, collect the data, perform appropriate statistical analysis, interpret the results, and present the project (written and orally). These tasks give the residents an appreciation for the effort necessary to produce quality research. Performing the project also assists the residents in analyzing professional literature and approaching professional literature and in an unbiased manner. Residents may begin working on their projects as early as the second term of their first year but must start the project no later than the first term of their second year. Additionally, the students must be enrolled in or have successfully completed their Statistical Methods and Research Methodology course.
