CHSP 6233 - QUALITATIVE RESEARCH METHODS FOR PUBLIC HEALTH[3 Credits] This is an intermediate methodological course which will introduce students to qualitative research applied in the context of public health inquiry and practice. The course is designed to provide an orientation to the theoretical and epistemological foundation of qualitative approaches, discussing strengths and limitations - inclusive of ethical considerations; exploring various qualitative data collection methods; and examining qualitative data analysis. Students will develop critical thinking skills related to qualitative research and be expected to apply knowledge gained to the real-world public health research endeavors.
