PHYSIO 200 - PERSPECTIVES IN ALCOHOL RESEARCH

Perspectives in Alcohol Research (PAR) is designed for graduate students actively engaged in alcohol and/or drug research. PAR brings together mentors, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students across multiple disciplines to discuss current alcohol research. The course syllabus is tailored every semester with a mix of thematic topics covered every semester and presentations that highlight the most salient aspects in alcohol research. After completing this course, students will have a better understanding of the diverse aspects of the alcohol research field. They will be able to critically examine published alcohol administration models. Through case studies, debates, and expert presenters, student will be able to determine when ethical dilemmas are present in alcohol research and recognize appropriate responses to ethical questions in alcohol research. Additionally, students will be exposed to influential thought leaders in alcohol research. Throughout the semester, students will be able to hone presentation skills of alcohol-related topics and their own research.
