ANAT 256 - Microanatomy and Cell Biology of the Oral Cavity[2 Credits] This course includes a study of the development, microanatomy, and cell biology of structures associated with the oral cavity. The lectures will include basic and current information on the development and structure of all components of teeth (enamel, dentin, cementum, and pulp), the supporting structures of teeth (periodontal ligament and alveolar bone), oral mucosa, and salivary glands. Current theories on tooth eruption will also be discussed. The laboratory will consist of demonstrations and self-study. Prerequisite: ANAT 192
