DENT 4105 - SENIOR ENDODONTICS LECTURE[16 Credits] The course will concentrate study of the clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment of pulpal, referred and periapical pain. Correlations between clinical signs, symptoms, and test results will be studied in order to predictably and efficiently relieve these types of odontogenic pain within time restraints of the emergency appointment. The behavioral and psychological aspects of managing the patient with toothache pain will be discussed in relation to practice management. Difficult diagnostic situations involving fractures of teeth and endodontic-periodontal involvement will be presented with appropriate treatment methodologies. The latest techniques for diagnosis and repair of perforation will be presented. Drug use and abuse by both the patient and dentist will be related to general practice of dentistry.
