NURS 6368 - ADVANCE NURSING ADMINSTRATION CONCEPTS I[3 Credits] This course introduces the student to the budgeting process and financial management. The role of the nurse manager/executive in the healthcare organization relating to the budgeting process and financial management are explored. Major issues of healthcare finance will be addressed. Emphasis will be on topics such as Medicare, Medicaid, DRGs, managed care, capitation, workload measurement and productivity. Selected cost concepts will be explored including variance analysis, break-even analysis, and full-time equivalents. Includes classroom and practicum (60 hours). Prerequisite: NURS 6350
