CPSC 4145 - RESPIRATORY CLINICS III[4 Credits] This course is the third of four clinical courses during which students develop the clinical skills necessary to become a competent respiratory care professional. In this course, students will gain competence in the respiratory care of pediatric and neonatal patients in critical care units, patients with chronic pulmonary disease in outpatient clinic settings, and for pediatric and adult patients in need of airway management, including intubation. Emphasis is placed on neonatal and pediatric monitoring techniques, blood gas sampling and analysis, mechanical ventilation, weaning and extubation, intubation, and application of skills learned in CPSC 3285 and CPSC 3395.
