NURS 7050 - ADVANCED NURSING SPECIALTY: ONCOLOGY THEORY

Advanced Nursing Specialty: Oncology Theory is a course designed to build upon the advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) student’s role and population-focused competencies; to support the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student’s practicum experiences within oncological practice settings; and to facilitate the student’s transition to practice. The content of this course represents the spectrum of oncologic care from primary and secondary preventative strategies; diagnostic, staging, treatment planning, and survivorship; and pharmacotherapeutic considerations of cancer treatments, side effects, or complication management. The course includes 3 credit hours (45 contact hours) of didactic learning experiences.
