NURS 7030 - ADVANCED NURSING SPECIALITY: EMERGENCY THEORY[3 Credits] Advanced Nursing Specialty: Emergency Theory is a course designed to build upon the advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) student’s role and population-focused competencies; to support the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student’s practicum experiences within emergency department settings and to facilitate the student’s transition to practice. This course discusses the urgent and emergent treatment of patients with acute illness and those with acute exacerbations of chronic disease. The content of this course focuses on the specialized knowledge aligned with the Emergency Nurse Practitioner scope and standards of practice. The course includes 3 credits hours (45 contact hours) of didactic learning experiences.
