The Department of Clinical Rehabilitation and Counseling at LSUHSC offers a Master of Health Sciences degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Counseling (MHS-CRC).

Departmental Admissions Process

Admissions are conducted once a year for matriculation into the MHS-CRC programs. Each year, the application decision process begins on May 15 and continues until the desired class size is accepted. Applications may be obtained by contacting the department or the Office of Student Affairs or by downloading an application from the Department’s website.

Part-time study is available to a limited number of students. Students anticipating special accommodations for the application and/or admission procedures should contact the Department for assistance.

The Department is committed to admitting a qualified and diverse group of students for each class. A strong commitment to the field of counseling is weighed heavily in the application process.

Applicant Advising

The Department of Clinical Rehabilitation and Counseling holds an informational session for prospective students and college advisors on the first Friday of each month.  Information is provided on the counseling field and scope of practice, program curriculum, class schedule, employment opportunities, application/admission requirements, etc.  These sessions are held in the School of Allied Health, Human Development Center building, 411 S. Prieur Street, Room 301 and start at 1:00pm.  If you are unable to attend the scheduled informational session, please email crcinfo@lsuhsc.edu to schedule another date and time.

Prospective students may also request a personal meeting with the Department’s admissions coordinator.  Contact the department to schedule an appointment at (504) 556-3453 or email crcinfo@lsuhsc.edu.
