Endodontics MSD

The  LSU Advanced Education in Endodontics program is designed to give specialty-level training to an individual committed to the practice of endodontics. Upon satisfactory completion of the 27-month program, students receive a Master of Science in Dentistry degree and a Certificate in Endodontics. Program graduates are educationally qualified to pursue certification by the American Board of Endodontics.  Students spend approximately 60 percent of program time in clinical practice, with the remainder comprising academic courses and seminars, teaching, and research. Coupled with appropriate supervision, clinical experiences expose students to the complete scote and patient population of an endodontic practice.  The range of clinical experiences includes diagnosis, traditional and 3-D imaging, nonsurgical and surgical therapy, initial and re-treatment endodontic procedures, utilization of an operating microscope, and many other aspects of the specialty.  Students manage 300 clinical cases, as well as complete an original research project and manuscript.  Applications are accepted via the ADEA PASS website.
