MSW/MPH

The LSU School of Social Work and the LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans School of Public Health offer a concurrent degree program through which students receive both the Master of Public Health (MPH) and the Master of Social Work (MSW) degrees.  Students successfully completing the concurrent degree program receive two separate degrees: the MSW awarded by the LSU School of Social Work (on the Baton Rouge campus) and the MPH awarded by the LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans School of Public Health (on the New Orleans campus).

MSW-MPH dual-degree students will satisfy the requirements for 60 MSW credit hours and a minimum of 34 MPH credit hours (or 31 MPH credit hours with 3 hours of transfer credits) depending on the point of matriculation.

MSW/MPH One Health, located on the LSU - Baton Rouge campus, is a cohesive curriculum that focuses on the interconnectedness of human, animal, and ecosystem health, aiming to enhance cooperation among healthcare professionals, social workers, and public health experts.

MSW/MPH Community Health Science and Policy, located on both LSU - Baton Rouge and LSU Health New Orleans campuses, is for students to follow the Community Science and Policy curriculum with courses that equip students with a robust concentration with evaluation, program management, policy knowledge, methods, and skills.
