DHY 4208 - DENTAL PUBLIC HEALTH II[2 Credits] This course is a continuation of public health issues from Dental Public Health I with an introduction to scientific methodology and the use of its attendant statistics, including sample selection, measures of central tendency, measures of variation, tests of significance and correlation coefficients. In addition, the students learn the principles of basic public health mechanisms of epidemiology and disease measurements including indices. Students will apply basic principles of dental public health on assigned rotations and serve as an oral health referral source for these populations. The students are afforded the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of extramural experiences, through observation and participation.
