DENT 1109 - PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT I[48 Credits] This lecture/seminar course is offered in the freshman year and is part of the four-year program to foster professional growth. Designed for the first-year dental student, it provides information to help the student in the transition into professional school and to meet the later demands of the practice of dentistry. The purpose of the course is to introduce the student to the profession, and the course includes such important topics as dental ethics and professional behavior, skills to cope with the rigors of the dental-school curriculum, stress and time management, cross-cultural awareness, opportunities in dentistry and the future of the profession.
