NURS 7109 - HEALTH OUTCOMES: INFORMATION SYSTEMS, MEASUREMENT, ANALYSIS & MGMT[3 Credits] This course provides an exploration of the role of advanced nursing practice related to improving healthcare outcomes based on clinical evidence. Specific theories related to quality improvement and outcomes and practice management will be analyzed. Focus on practice guidelines, quality of care, outcomes of care and regulatory limitations of the current and changing healthcare system will be discussed. Measurement and evaluation issues related to health outcomes from a health systems perspective will be explored. This course will also assist the student to develop informational and technological competencies that facilitate the formulation of questions and analysis related to clinical decision making and outcomes management. Focus on application of computer technology that supports the dissemination of health care date, information, and knowledge.
